Manganese

Manganese (CAS 7439-96-5), abbreviated Mn and commercially known under the trade name Cutaval, is a transition metal supplied in refined elemental form for industrial and specialty applications. It functions primarily as an alloying agent, catalyst precursor, and micronutrient source across metallurgical, agricultural, and chemical manufacturing sectors. In steelmaking and alloy production, Mn is added to control sulfur content.

This process improves hardness, making it indispensable in producing structural steel, stainless steel, and high-strength alloys. Agricultural feed and fertilizer formulators use manganese as a micronutrient additive. These additives correct soil and animal deficiencies that affect crop yield and livestock health.
