Oleoyl sarcosine
Description
Oleoyl sarcosine (CAS 110-25-8), also known as Sarkosyl O, is an oleic acid-derived sarcosine condensate used across metalworking and personal care markets. It functions primarily as a corrosion inhibitor, surfactant, and foam modifier in both aqueous and oil-based systems.
In metalworking fluids and rust-preventive oils, it adsorbs onto metal surfaces to form a protective barrier that suppresses corrosion without interfering with lubrication performance. Cutting fluid and grinding fluid formulators incorporate it to control foam.
This chemical maintains emulsion stability under high-shear conditions. In personal care, it acts as a mild surfactant and conditioning agent in shampoos, facial cleansers, and shaving products where low irritation is a formulation priority.
Industrial cleaning and degreasing compounds use it to improve soil removal and wetting on metal substrates. This versatility makes it a staple for manufacturers requiring high-performance surface protection and cleaning efficiency.
Oleoyl sarcosine is supplied as an amber to yellow liquid at ambient temperature. It is available in technical grade for industrial and metalworking applications, as well as in cosmetic-grade specifications for personal care formulations.
Bulk supply is standard in drums and IBC containers, with purity typically specified at 95% or higher depending on end-use requirements. Our logistics network ensures timely delivery for large-scale manufacturing needs.
