Isononanoic acid

Isononanoic acid (CAS 26896-18-4), also known as isopelargonic acid, is a branched-chain C9 fatty acid used as a building block and functional ingredient across polymer, lubricant, and personal care manufacturing.

Its branched structure drives performance in ester synthesis, where linearity would otherwise limit end-product flexibility or stability. In plastics and polymer processing, it reacts with alcohols to produce plasticizer esters.
