Description

Isotridecyl stearate (CAS 31565-37-4), also marketed as Exceparl TD-S, is a branched-chain ester of stearic acid and isotridecyl alcohol used as an emollient and lubricant.

Its branched molecular structure resists crystallization, keeping formulations fluid and stable across a range of processing and storage conditions. Buyers source it as a functional base ingredient.

In personal care, it functions as a skin-conditioning emollient in creams, lotions, and color cosmetics, providing a smooth, non-tacky after-feel without the heaviness of conventional waxes.

Industrial lubricant formulators incorporate it as a base fluid or additive in metalworking fluids and release agents, where its ester chemistry offers good lubricity and compatibility.

As a plasticizer and softener, it is used in polymer and elastomer compounding to improve flexibility and processability. Coatings and adhesive formulators also use it to modify film flexibility.

This chemical is supplied as a clear to pale yellow liquid. It is available in cosmetic-grade and technical-grade specifications to meet the requirements of personal care and industrial markets.

Standard packaging includes drums and intermediate bulk containers (IBCs). The product is handled according to standard industrial safety protocols to ensure stability and performance in all applications.
