Description

PEG-3 Isostearate (CAS 56002-14-3), also referred to as Polyethylene Glycol Monoisostearate, is a low-ethoxylation ester of isostearic acid used as a nonionic emulsifier and wetting agent across personal care and industrial markets.

Its short PEG chain delivers a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance suited to oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsion systems where mild, skin-compatible ingredients are preferred for high-performance formulations.

In personal care formulations, it functions as an emulsifier and moisturizing co-emulsifier in creams, lotions, and conditioning products, helping stabilize oil phases while contributing to skin feel.

Textile processing operations use it as a fiber lubricant and wetting agent, improving dye penetration and reducing surface tension during finishing treatments to ensure consistent quality across batches.

In coatings and adhesive systems, it acts as a dispersant and surface modifier, aiding pigment wetting and substrate adhesion. Leather treatment formulations also incorporate it to improve fat liquoring distribution.

PEG-3 Isostearate is typically supplied as a liquid or semi-liquid at ambient temperature. Cosmetic-grade material meeting standard industry purity requirements is the most common commercial form available.

It is available in bulk drums and intermediate bulk containers suited to industrial procurement volumes. This versatile chemical ensures stability and performance in a wide range of specialized applications.
