Alkyl polyglucoside
Description
Alkyl polyglucoside (CAS 68515-73-1), commonly abbreviated as APG-0810, is a non-ionic surfactant derived from renewable plant-based sugars and fatty alcohols. Decyl octyl glycosides is a recognized trade term for this same material in certain supplier markets.
It functions as a mild, high-foaming cleanser and emulsifier across personal care and industrial cleaning formulations. In personal care, APG-0810 is used as the primary surfactant in shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers.
Mildness and foam quality are formulation priorities for these products. Home care formulators incorporate it into hard surface cleaners, dishwashing liquids, and all-purpose sprays where it boosts detergency and supports grease removal.
Industrial and textile applications rely on its wetting and emulsification performance in fabric processing baths and leather degreasing operations. It also functions as a co-emulsifier and dispersing agent in agricultural sprays.
APG-0810 is supplied as a clear to slightly hazy liquid, typically at 50–70% active matter concentrations. Food-grade and cosmetic-grade specifications are available, with material commonly meeting requirements for natural formulations.
Technical-grade material is offered for industrial cleaning and process applications where purity thresholds are less stringent. This versatile surfactant provides excellent performance while maintaining a favorable environmental profile.
