Description

Trideceth-8 carboxylic acid (CAS 70750-17-3) is a nonionic-anionic ethoxylated carboxylic acid surfactant derived from C12-13 fatty alcohols. It combines the mildness of ethoxylated nonionics with the anionic character of a carboxylate group.

This unique chemical structure makes it effective across a broad pH range for emulsification, wetting, and cleaning applications. In personal care formulations, it functions as a mild emulsifier and cleansing agent.

It is frequently utilized in shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers where low irritation potential is a priority. Industrial and institutional cleaning products use it as a low-foaming detergent component.

The surfactant is particularly effective for hard surface cleaners and degreasers, especially in alkaline systems. Textile processing benefits from its wetting and scouring performance during fiber preparation.

It is also used in dyeing auxiliaries where consistent surface penetration is critical for quality results. In leather and paper processing, it supports emulsification of treatment baths and improves uniformity.

This chemical helps achieve surface consistency during finishing operations in various manufacturing sectors. Trideceth-8 carboxylic acid is typically supplied as a liquid or low-viscosity paste for easy handling.

It is available in technical and cosmetic grades, with cosmetic-grade material meeting relevant purity standards for personal care use. Bulk supply is standard in drums and IBC containers for industrial scale.
