Pliolite AC 80

CAS

Description

Pliolite AC 80 (CAS 81406-93-1) is a styrene-acrylic copolymer resin used as a binder and rheology modifier in solvent-based coating and adhesive systems. It provides film-forming performance and surface adhesion across a range of industrial formulations.

In architectural and protective coatings, this resin delivers strong substrate adhesion and weather resistance, making it a preferred binder in exterior masonry and facade paints. Adhesive and sealant formulators use it to control tack and cohesion.

The material helps manage open time in solvent-borne systems for construction substrates. In printing and packaging, it functions as a resin component in solvent-based inks where fast drying and gloss retention are required for the final product.

Building product manufacturers also incorporate it into waterproofing membranes and surface treatment compounds. This is particularly useful where controlled rheology under specific application conditions is critical for the success of the project.

The product is supplied as a solid bead or granule form, designed for dissolution in aromatic and aliphatic solvents prior to use. It is available in technical grade, with supply typically in multi-kilogram bags or bulk quantities.

Specifications are aligned with performance-based standards rather than pharmacopeial grades like FCC, USP, Ph.Eur., BP, EP, or ACS, consistent with its industrial coating and construction applications.
