Description

Acrylic acid-maleic anhydride copolymer (CAS 26677-99-6) is a synthetic polymer used across water treatment, construction, and industrial process chemistry. It functions as a scale inhibitor, dispersant, and corrosion inhibitor in systems where mineral deposits must be controlled.

In water treatment, it prevents calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, and other mineral scales from forming on heat exchanger surfaces and cooling tower equipment. This ensures optimal thermal efficiency and prevents costly downtime in industrial cooling systems.

Textile and paper processing operations use it to sequester hardness ions and improve process water quality. This reduces interference with dyes and sizing agents, leading to more consistent product quality and reduced chemical waste during manufacturing.

In construction chemistry, it modifies the rheology of cementitious formulations, controlling workability and retarding premature stiffening. This allows for better handling of concrete and mortar in various environmental conditions and complex builds.
