Tridecyl trimellitate
Description
Tridecyl trimellitate (CAS 94109-09-8) is a trimellitate ester plasticizer and lubricant used in demanding polymer and industrial applications. It delivers low volatility and high-temperature performance where conventional phthalate or adipate plasticizers fall short.
In PVC compounding, it functions as a primary plasticizer for wire and cable insulation, automotive interior components, and underhood parts that must retain flexibility at elevated service temperatures.
Automotive sealing profiles and instrument panel skins benefit from its resistance to extraction and migration, reducing long-term embrittlement in heat-aged assemblies during the product lifecycle.
In lubricant formulations, it serves as a synthetic base fluid or additive component in high-temperature greases and metalworking fluids where thermal stability is a processing requirement.
It is also used in specialty coatings and adhesive formulations where a non-migrating plasticizing effect is needed without compromising the final surface finish or structural integrity.
Tridecyl trimellitate is supplied as a clear to pale yellow viscous liquid. Technical grade is the standard commercial offering, with purity specifications typically confirmed by ester content and acid value.
Packaging is available in drums and IBC containers suited to bulk industrial procurement. Our logistics team ensures consistent supply chains for large-scale manufacturing and chemical processing facilities.
