Description

Mono(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (CAS 1070-03-7), also known as ethylhexyl acid phosphate, is an organophosphate ester used across industrial processing as a chelating agent and corrosion inhibitor.

Its acid phosphate structure enables selective metal ion coordination and surface-active behavior in demanding process environments. It is also widely utilized as a high-performance lubrication additive.

In solvent extraction and hydrometallurgical processing, it functions as a metal extractant for separating and recovering rare earth elements and cobalt from various leach solutions.

Lubricant and metalworking fluid formulators incorporate it as an anti-wear and extreme-pressure additive. It forms protective phosphate films on metal surfaces under high-load conditions.

In textile processing, it acts as a fiber lubricant and antistatic agent, improving yarn runnability during spinning and weaving operations. This enhances overall production efficiency.

Leather and paper manufacturers use it as a processing aid to control metal ion activity. This improves surface treatment compatibility and ensures consistent quality in the final products.

The product is supplied as a liquid, typically as a mixture with the diester analog, with mono-ester content specified by grade. Technical-grade material is the standard offering.

Purity and ester ratio are confirmed by acid value and phosphorus content analysis. This ensures the material meets the necessary specifications for industrial and chemical applications.
