Magnesium sulphate monohydrate (CAS 14567-64-7), commercially known as Kieserite, is an inorganic magnesium salt used in agriculture and industrial processing.

Where is Magnesium sulphate monohydrate used?

• Agriculture: slow-releasing magnesium and sulphur source applied to soil or blended into compound fertilizers to correct deficiencies
• Cereals, oilseed rape, sugar beet and grassland
• Dry fertilizer blending: lower water content than heptahydrate grades supports moisture-stable granules
• Water treatment: magnesium ion source for pH buffering, coagulation and flocculation in municipal and industrial effluent systems
• Feed-grade applications supplement magnesium in compound animal feeds.

Good to know: Lower water content than heptahydrate grades makes it preferred for dry fertilizer blending where moisture-stable granules are critical.
