Description

3-Isocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane (CAS 24801-88-5), also known as ICPTES, is a bifunctional silane coupling agent combining an isocyanate group with an alkoxysilane anchor. It bonds organic polymer matrices to inorganic substrates by reacting at both the organic and inorganic interface simultaneously. This versatile chemical is used for glass, metals, and mineral fillers. In adhesives, sealants, and structural bonding formulations, it improves adhesion to glass and metal substrates where moisture resistance is critical for long-term performance.

Coatings manufacturers use it to crosslink polyurethane systems onto treated surfaces, improving durability and intercoat adhesion on automotive and industrial parts.
