• Agrochemicals: emulsifier and wetting agent in emulsifiable concentrate pesticides, improving active ingredient dispersion in water
• Coatings and adhesives: stabiliser of pigment dispersions and substrate wetting aid on low-energy surfaces
• Metalworking and lubricants: emulsifier in soluble cutting oils and corrosion-inhibiting fluids, maintaining oil-in-water emulsion stability during heavy machining
• Textiles and leather: wetting and penetration agent in dyebath and finishing operations
• It is effective where sodium-based sulfonates are unsuitable due to electrolyte sensitivity or oil-phase compatibility.
