Description

Ethylene glycol monopropyl ether (CAS 2807-30-9), also known commercially as Propyl Cellosolve, is a slow-evaporating glycol ether solvent used across coatings, printing, and personal care manufacturing. Its controlled evaporation rate supports film formation and flow in solvent-based systems where faster solvents cause surface defects. In architectural and industrial coatings, it improves flow and leveling.

This solvent is effective in alkyd and waterborne formulations, reducing brush marks and orange peel in the final film. Printing ink manufacturers use it to control drying speed and maintain viscosity stability. It is particularly useful for packaging inks on flexible substrates. In personal care, it functions as a carrier solvent in hair care and skin formulations where uniform ingredient dispersion is required.

Adhesive and sealant producers incorporate it as a coalescing or coupling solvent to improve substrate wetting and bond development. This ensures high performance across various industrial bonding applications. Ethylene glycol monopropyl ether is supplied as a clear liquid in drum and IBC quantities, with bulk tanker options available for high-volume buyers. Technical grade is the standard commercial offering.

High-purity grades are available for personal care and specialty formulation use where tighter quality specifications are required. We ensure all shipments meet rigorous industrial and safety standards.
