Description

Dioctyltin bis(acetylacetonate) (CAS 54068-28-9), also referenced commercially as dioctyltin diketanoate, is an organotin compound used as a catalyst in polymer curing and crosslinking systems.

It drives controlled reaction rates in silicone and polyurethane processing without requiring aggressive activation conditions. In silicone rubber formulations, it catalyzes room-temperature and heat-cure crosslinking reactions.

This makes it a preferred choice where low-toxicity organotin alternatives to dibutyltin systems are specified. Polyurethane producers use it to regulate gel time and cure profile in cast elastomers and sealants.

In PVC stabilization research and specialty polymer compounding, it functions as a processing catalyst where thermal stability during melt processing is a formulation requirement for the final product.

Rubber manufacturers evaluating controlled vulcanization systems also assess it for crosslink density management in specialty elastomer applications. It ensures consistent performance across various industrial batches.

Dioctyltin bis(acetylacetonate) is supplied as a liquid or viscous solution, typically at high active-content concentrations suited for direct addition to polymer formulations during the mixing stage.

It is available in technical grade for industrial polymer and rubber processing applications. Packaging ranges from small laboratory quantities to drum-scale supply for large scale compounding operations.
