Sodium cocoate

Sodium cocoate (CAS 61789-31-9) is the sodium salt of coconut fatty acids, produced by saponification of coconut oil. Also known commercially as coconut soap or coco soap.

Where is Sodium cocoate used?

• Bar soap: primary cleansing base
• Liquid and cream cleansers: foaming and emulsifying agent
• Shampoos, body washes and facial cleansers: surfactant
• Industrial and institutional cleaning: degreasing hard surfaces
• Textile and leather processing: scouring and wetting agent for raw materials
• It functions as an anionic surfactant and is useful where biodegradable, soap-based formulations are preferred over synthetic detergents.
