Description

Potassium cocoate (CAS 61789-30-8) is the potassium salt of coconut fatty acids, produced by saponifying coconut oil with potassium hydroxide. It functions as a primary surfactant and cleansing agent, delivering foam generation and soil removal.

This versatile ingredient provides excellent emulsification across personal care and cleaning formulations. In bar soap and liquid soap manufacturing, it is the active saponified base responsible for lather structure and skin-feel profile.

Shampoo and body wash formulators use it to build foam volume and suspend oils for rinse-off. In household and industrial cleaning products, it contributes grease-cutting performance in hard surface cleaners and dish soaps.

It is also utilized in laundry formulations and textile processing. Leather operations apply it as a scouring and degreasing agent to remove natural oils and contaminants from raw materials prior to further treatment.

The product is supplied as a liquid or paste, with concentration typically ranging from 30% to 50% active content in aqueous solution. Technical and cosmetic grades are available for various industrial needs.

Cosmetic-grade material meets purity requirements for leave-on and rinse-off personal care applications. Bulk supply is standard in drums and IBCs, with specification sheets confirming active matter content and pH range.
