Glycol distearate

Glycol distearate (CAS 627-83-8), also known as EGDS or ethylene glycol distearate, is a waxy ester used across personal care, coatings, and textile industries. It functions primarily as an opacifier, pearlizing agent, and rheology modifier in both aqueous and emulsion-based systems. In shampoos, conditioners, and body washes, EGDS produces the characteristic pearlescent appearance consumers associate with premium formulations, while simultaneously adjusting viscosity. Textile and fiber processing operations use it as a lubricant and surface modifier.

This chemical helps to reduce friction during yarn manufacturing and fabric finishing.
