Sodium C12-13 pareth-12 carboxylate
Description
Sodium C12-13 pareth-12 carboxylate (CAS 68908-98-5) is a mild ether carboxylate surfactant derived from ethoxylated C12-13 fatty alcohols. It delivers effective cleansing and emulsification across formulations.
This material provides foam modulation where mildness and compatibility with sensitive substrates are commercial priorities. In personal care, it functions as a primary or co-surfactant in shampoos and facial cleansers.
It is ideal for body washes where low irritation potential and compatibility with amphoteric surfactants are required. Home care formulations use it to degrease hard surfaces and emulsify oils at various pH levels.
It maintains performance in alkaline systems where many other surfactants lose their effectiveness. Textile processing benefits from its ability to act as a scouring and wetting agent for removing oils.
It removes sizing agents from fiber without damaging delicate substrates during the manufacturing process. In leather and paper processing, it supports uniform dispersion of treatment agents during wet stages.
The product improves substrate penetration and is typically supplied as a clear to slightly hazy aqueous liquid. Active content concentrations of around 25–30% are standard in commercial supply.
Technical and cosmetic-grade material is available for industrial use. The cosmetic-grade product meets the purity requirements expected for leave-on and rinse-off personal care applications.
