MIPA-laureth sulfate
Description
MIPA-laureth sulfate (CAS 83016-76-6), sold commercially as Melanol LPI 45, Zetesol 2056, and Gezavon LL 20B, is an ethoxylated anionic surfactant used as a primary or co-surfactant in cleansing formulations.
It delivers foaming, detergency, and emulsification performance with a milder profile than conventional sulfates. This makes it a preferred option for formulations targeting sensitive skin or hair care products.
In personal care, it functions as the primary surfactant in shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers where foam quality and mildness must be balanced. It provides a stable lather while maintaining skin comfort.
Home care formulators incorporate it into liquid dishwashing detergents and all-purpose cleaners to boost grease removal. It is highly effective at stabilizing emulsified soils during the cleaning process.
Industrial cleaning products use it to disperse oils and particulates across hard surfaces. It is particularly useful in formulations requiring compatibility with high-electrolyte systems and harsh environments.
It also supports the emulsification of fragrance and conditioning agents within rinse-off formulations. This versatility allows for the creation of complex, multi-functional consumer and industrial products.
MIPA-laureth sulfate is supplied as a liquid or gel at active concentrations typically ranging from 20% to 45%. Standard commercial grades are available for cosmetic and industrial cleaning applications.
Cosmetic-grade material conforms to relevant purity requirements for personal care use. Packaging options generally include drums and intermediate bulk containers suited to industrial procurement volumes.
