Description

Calcium chloride dihydrate (CAS 10035-04-8) is a hydrated inorganic salt used across industrial, food, and infrastructure applications as a desiccant, accelerant, and process chemical.

It delivers controlled calcium and chloride ion activity in solution, making it a practical choice where anhydrous forms would introduce moisture-sensitivity handling challenges during storage.

In oil and gas drilling, it functions as a dense brine fluid for wellbore stabilization and completion operations. Food producers use it as a firming agent and preservative in canned vegetables.

It is also utilized in cheese manufacturing and brining processes where precise calcium ion concentration is required. Concrete and construction applications rely on it as a set accelerator.

This chemical helps in reducing cure times in cold-weather pours. Water treatment facilities apply it for pH correction and hardness adjustment in process and municipal water systems.

Calcium chloride dihydrate is supplied as white crystalline powder or granules, with flake forms also available. Standard grades include food-grade (FCC), USP, and technical-grade specifications.

These grades serve pharmaceutical, food processing, and industrial buyers respectively. Bulk and packaged formats are available to suit both large-scale industrial procurement and smaller requirements.
