Stearamide

Stearamide (CAS 124-26-5), also sold under trade names Kemamide S and Adogen 42, is the amide derivative of stearic acid used as a slip agent, lubricant, and surface modifier.

Where is Stearamide used?

• Plastics and polymer film: internal and external slip agent migrating to the film surface
• Polyethylene and polypropylene packaging: migration reduces the coefficient of friction
• Textile and leather finishing: softening and lubricating additive improving hand feel and reducing fiber-on-fiber abrasion
• Metalworking and industrial lubricants: solid lubricant component and release agent in drawing compounds and stamping formulations
• Personal care: incorporated into stick formulations, creams, and waxes for controlled texture and emollient structuring
• It reduces surface friction and controls interfilm adhesion without altering bulk material properties.
