Description

Lauramide (CAS 1120-16-7), also known as Diamide Y, is a fatty acid amide derived from lauric acid used as a functional additive across lubrication, surface treatment, and polymer processing applications.

It acts as a slip agent, lubricant, and dispersing aid where controlled surface interaction is required. In plastics processing, it functions as an internal and external slip agent, reducing friction between polymer film layers.

This material improves surface release during extrusion and molding processes. Textile and leather finishing operations use it to modify fiber surface properties, improving hand feel and reducing inter-yarn friction in treatments.

Metalworking lubricant formulators incorporate it to enhance film-forming performance and reduce tool wear in cutting and drawing compounds. In personal care manufacturing, it supports emulsion stability and foam modulation.

The product is supplied as a white to off-white waxy solid, typically in flake or powder form. Technical grade is the standard commercial specification, with purity levels commonly ranging from 95% to 99%.

Depending on application requirements, the material ensures consistent performance in industrial settings. Packaging is available in bags or fiber drums suited to industrial procurement volumes for global distribution.
