Magnesium peroxide

Magnesium peroxide (CAS 1335-26-8), also marketed as Peromag and Drillox M, is a solid oxidizing agent that releases oxygen slowly upon contact with moisture. This controlled oxygen release makes it effective as a soil amendment and water treatment additive. It serves as a powerful antimicrobial agent across multiple industries. In contaminated site remediation and groundwater treatment, it delivers sustained oxygen to stimulate aerobic biodegradation of hydrocarbon pollutants.

Agricultural applications rely on its slow oxygen release to improve soil aeration and promote root development. It is also used to extend the viability of seeds in waterlogged or anaerobic conditions. Pharmaceutical and healthcare formulators use it as a mild bleaching and antimicrobial component.
