Laureth-7 citrate

Laureth-7 citrate (CAS 161756-30-5) is a mild, citrate-esterified ethoxylated lauryl alcohol surfactant used as an emulsifier and wetting agent. Also marketed as Plantapon LC 7.

Where is Laureth-7 citrate used?

• Cosmetics: primary or co-emulsifier in rinse-off and leave-on formulations
• Lotions, shampoos and conditioners: stabilises oil-in-water systems
• Home care and industrial cleaning: improves substrate wetting and soil dispersion on hard surfaces, particularly in low-pH concentrates
• Coatings and adhesives: supports pigment and filler dispersion and improves substrate adhesion through surface tension reduction
• Acidic toilet bowl cleaners: dual surfactant-acid character
• Descaling formulations: emulsification and pH control simultaneously
• It combines surfactant and acidifying functionality in a single ingredient, reducing the need for separate pH-adjustment additives.
