Description

Oleyl diethanolamine (CAS 25307-17-9) is a fatty amine ethoxylate derived from oleic acid, combining a long unsaturated alkyl chain with two hydroxyethyl groups. This dual functionality positions it as an effective emulsifier and surface-active agent.

It serves as a corrosion inhibitor across multiple industrial sectors. In metalworking and lubricant formulations, it functions as an emulsifier in cutting fluids, protecting ferrous metal surfaces while keeping oil-water systems stable.

Textile and leather processors use it as a softening and wetting agent. It improves fiber lubrication and dye penetration during finishing operations, ensuring high-quality results in industrial manufacturing environments.

Water treatment programs incorporate it for its ability to condition metal surfaces. It effectively disperses contaminants in recirculating systems, maintaining the efficiency and longevity of industrial cooling and heating equipment.

In personal care formulations, it acts as an emulsifier and rheology modifier. It is commonly used in creams and conditioning products where a fatty amine component is required for specific texture and stability properties.

Oleyl diethanolamine is supplied as an amber to yellow liquid. Technical grade is the standard commercial offering, with purity levels typically specified by amine value and hydroxyl number to confirm batch consistency.

The product meets rigorous industrial specifications for chemical stability. Packaging is available in drums and intermediate bulk containers for industrial quantities, ensuring safe transport and storage for large-scale operations.
