Ethoxylated oleylamine
Description
Ethoxylated oleylamine (CAS 26635-93-8) is a nonionic/cationic surfactant derived from oleylamine reacted with ethylene oxide. It functions as an emulsifier, dispersant, and surface modifier across industrial and agricultural formulations.
In agrochemical formulations, it improves the dispersibility and leaf adhesion of herbicide and pesticide concentrates. This directly affects field efficacy and product stability during long-term storage and application.
Water treatment programs use it as a corrosion inhibitor and dispersant for scale-forming particles in industrial cooling systems. It is also effective in process water systems where mineral buildup must be managed.
Textile and leather processing operations apply it as a softening agent and antistatic additive. This improves fabric handle and reduces static buildup during high-speed fiber processing and manufacturing stages.
In metalworking fluids and lubricant concentrates, it acts as an emulsifier that stabilizes oil-in-water systems. It maintains performance even under high-shear conditions common in industrial machining and metal fabrication.
Ethoxylated oleylamine is supplied as an amber to yellow viscous liquid for industrial use. It is available in technical grade, with the ethoxylation degree varying by supplier to meet specific formulation needs.
Common grades range from 2 to 15 moles EO, which determines the HLB value and application fit. Bulk supply is standard in drums and intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) for large-scale chemical manufacturing.
