Oleyl Cetyl Alcohol Ethoxylates

CAS

Description

Oleyl Cetyl Alcohol Ethoxylates (CAS 116810-31-2), also supplied as Oleyl Cetyl Alcohol 25, 50, and 80 EO grades, are nonionic surfactants produced by ethoxylating a blend of C16 and C18 unsaturated fatty alcohols.

They function as emulsifiers, dispersants, and cleaning agents across a broad range of industrial and consumer formulations. In home care and industrial cleaning, these ethoxylates act as primary or co-surfactants.

They are used in hard surface cleaners, degreasers, and laundry formulations, improving soil lift and rinse performance. Textile and leather processors use them as wetting and scouring agents for better results.

This enables uniform dye penetration and effective removal of processing oils during manufacturing. Personal care formulators incorporate them as emulsifiers and moisturizing agents in various creams and lotions.

They are ideal for conditioning rinses where stable oil-in-water emulsification is required. In agrochemical formulations, they support the dispersion and emulsification of active ingredients in crop protection products.

Oleyl Cetyl Alcohol Ethoxylates are typically supplied as liquid or paste, depending on the degree of ethoxylation. Standard commercial grades are defined by EO chain length, such as 25, 50, and 80 moles.

This variety allows formulators to select the specific HLB range for their unique applications. Technical and industrial grades are the primary market offering for these versatile chemical compounds.
