Description

C12-18 Ethoxylated Alcohols (CAS 68213-23-0) are nonionic surfactants produced by ethoxylating fatty alcohols in the C12–C18 carbon chain range. They function as emulsifiers, detergents, and dispersants across a broad range of industrial and consumer formulations.

In personal care, they emulsify oil-in-water systems in lotions, creams, and hair conditioners, providing stable, aesthetically smooth formulations. Household and industrial cleaners rely on them for degreasing hard surfaces.

These surfactants improve soil removal in laundry and dishwashing products. Textile processing operations use them as scouring and wetting agents to prepare fiber surfaces before dyeing or finishing.

In agricultural formulations, they disperse active ingredients in emulsifiable concentrates and suspension concentrates. This improves coverage and uptake on treated surfaces for better efficacy.

C12-18 Ethoxylated Alcohols are supplied as liquids or low-melting pastes, with viscosity and HLB value varying according to the degree of ethoxylation. Common EO mole variants range from low-ethoxylate grades.

These grades are suited for emulsification while higher-ethoxylate grades are optimized for detergency and water dispersibility. Technical and industrial grades are the standard market offering for most uses.

Specific grades are formulated to meet requirements in regulated applications such as agricultural adjuvants or personal care. They remain a versatile choice for formulators seeking reliable performance.
