C13-15 Ethoxylated Alcohols
Description
C13-15 Ethoxylated Alcohols (CAS 64425-86-1) are nonionic surfactants produced by ethoxylating mid-chain fatty alcohols in the C13–C15 range. Depending on the degree of ethoxylation, they function as emulsifiers, wetting agents, or detergent actives.
These versatile chemicals are used across a broad range of industrial and consumer formulations. In household and industrial cleaning products, they deliver low-foam or controlled-foam detergency for hard surface cleaners.
They are highly effective in degreasers and automatic dishwashing formulations. Textile processors use them as wetting and scouring agents to ensure uniform dye penetration and soil removal during fabric preparation.
In agricultural formulations, they improve the spreadability and raindrop retention of herbicide and pesticide concentrates on leaf surfaces. This ensures better efficacy and coverage for crop protection products.
Personal care formulators incorporate them as emulsifiers in rinse-off products such as body washes and conditioning shampoos. They provide stable emulsions and enhance the sensory profile of various cosmetic applications.
C13-15 Ethoxylated Alcohols are supplied as clear to slightly hazy liquids, with viscosity varying by ethoxylate chain length. Standard commercial grades are differentiated by EO mole count, typically ranging from 3 to 12 moles.
The ethylene oxide content determines the HLB value and specific application fit for the surfactant. Both technical-grade and surfactant-grade specifications are available to meet industrial and personal care requirements.
