C14-15 alcohols

Description

C14-15 Alcohols (CAS 75782-87-5), commercially available as Oxocol 1415 and Dobanol 45, are synthetic fatty alcohol blends derived from oxo synthesis. They function as emulsifiers, rheology modifiers, and carrier solvents across personal care, cleaning, and industrial formulations.

In personal care, they serve as co-emulsifiers and consistency agents in creams, lotions, and conditioners. They contribute to emulsion stability and skin feel without contributing active function to the final product.

In surfactant manufacturing, they are ethoxylated to produce nonionic surfactants used in household and industrial cleaning products. Metalworking and lubricant formulators incorporate them as carrier components in cutting fluids.

These alcohols are used in emulsifiable oils where controlled viscosity and blending compatibility with mineral oils matter. They also act as solvent carriers in fragrance and active delivery systems within cosmetic formats.

C14-15 Alcohols are supplied as a liquid at ambient-to-warm temperatures, typically handled and stored in heated tanks or drums. This ensures the material remains in a workable state for manufacturing processes.

Standard commercial grades meet technical and cosmetic-grade specifications, with select grades conforming to requirements relevant to personal care and home care formulation. Quality control ensures consistency across batches.

Supply is available in intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and bulk tanker quantities to suit both mid-scale formulators and large industrial buyers. This flexibility allows for efficient logistics and storage management.
