C12-18 alcohols

C12-18 Alcohols (CAS 67762-25-8) are a blend of saturated fatty alcohols derived from natural or synthetic feedstocks. Also marketed as Alfol 1218 and Lorol.

Where is C12-18 alcohols used?

• Personal care: stabilize oil-in-water emulsions
• Lotions, creams and conditioners: body and texture
• Household and industrial cleaning: co-emulsifiers and foam stabilizers
• Liquid detergents and fabric softeners
• Lubricants: intermediates for ester-based lubricants and metalworking fluids with controlled viscosity
• Ethoxylated alcohol surfactants: petrochemical and oleochemical processing input
• In formulation and industrial manufacturing they act as emulsifiers, emollients and rheology modifiers.

Good to know: Natural (palm- or coconut-derived) and synthetic (Ziegler process) origins are available, a sourcing consideration for buyers with sustainability or certification requirements.
