Description

Ethyldiethanolamine (CAS 139-87-7) is a tertiary amine-alcohol used across industrial formulations for pH buffering, corrosion inhibition, and emulsification. Its dual hydroxyl and amine functionality makes it effective at coordinating metal ions.

This chemical is highly efficient at stabilizing aqueous systems. In metalworking and industrial lubricants, it acts as a corrosion inhibitor and pH stabilizer in cutting fluids and coolant concentrates, extending fluid service life.

Textile and leather processing operations use it as a dispersing and leveling agent in dye baths. This improves dye uptake uniformity across fiber substrates, ensuring consistent quality in large-scale manufacturing environments.

Coatings and adhesive formulations incorporate it to control pH during emulsion polymerization. It is also used to improve pigment dispersion stability, which is critical for maintaining the shelf life of industrial paints.

Water treatment programs rely on it for metal chelation and scale inhibition in recirculating systems. It is particularly effective where hardness ions must be sequestered to prevent equipment fouling and maintenance issues.

The product is supplied as a clear to pale yellow liquid, typically in drum and IBC quantities for industrial buyers. It is available in technical grade, which is the predominant commercial specification for industrial end uses.

Purity levels in commercial supply generally range from 98% to 99%, with documentation including COA and standard industrial safety compliance. This ensures the material meets the rigorous demands of chemical processing.
