Myristamine oxide

Myristamine oxide (CAS 3332-27-2), also sold as AMMONYX MCO and known industrially as tetradecyldimethylamine oxide, is an amine oxide surfactant derived from a C14 fatty chain.

Where is Myristamine oxide used?

• Personal care: foam booster, viscosity modifier and conditioning agent in shampoos, body washes and liquid hand soaps
• Shampoos, body washes and liquid hand soaps: stabilises foam and thickens sulfate-based surfactant systems
• Textile and fiber processing: softening and antistatic agent applied during finishing stages to improve material handling
• Industrial and institutional cleaning concentrates: grease emulsification and soil suspension
• Paper and leather processing: dispersing action and compatibility with anionic co-surfactants in wet-processing baths
• It remains stable and effective under both acidic and alkaline conditions.
