Description

Myristamine oxide (CAS 3332-27-2), also sold under the trade name AMMONYX MCO and known industrially as tetradecyldimethylamine oxide, is an amine oxide surfactant derived from a C14 fatty chain.

It functions as a foam booster, viscosity modifier, and conditioning agent across personal care and industrial cleaning formulations. In shampoos, body washes, and liquid hand soaps, it stabilizes foam and thickens sulfate-based surfactant systems.

This chemical eliminates the need for additional rheology modifiers in many applications. Textile and fiber processing operations use it as a softening and antistatic agent applied during finishing stages to improve material handling.

In industrial and institutional cleaning concentrates, it contributes to grease emulsification and soil suspension. It remains stable and effective under both acidic and alkaline conditions, offering versatility for heavy-duty cleaners.

Paper and leather processing formulators incorporate it for its dispersing action and compatibility with anionic co-surfactants in wet-processing baths. This ensures uniform treatment and high-quality results in manufacturing.

Myristamine oxide is commercially supplied as an aqueous solution, most commonly at 25–30% active content. Both technical-grade and cosmetic-grade specifications are available to meet diverse industry requirements.

Cosmetic grades meet purity requirements suitable for leave-on and rinse-off personal care products. Packaging typically ranges from drums to IBC totes for bulk procurement to support large-scale production facilities.
