Fluorescent Brightener 378 (CAS 40470-68-6), commercially known as CBS-127, is a stilbene-based optical brightening agent used to enhance the perceived whiteness and brightness of substrates.

By absorbing UV light and re-emitting it as visible blue fluorescence, it counteracts yellowing in finished materials without altering their base formulation during the manufacturing process.

In plastics and polymer processing, CBS-127 is incorporated into polyolefins, PET, and engineering resins to deliver high-whiteness aesthetics in packaging films, molded parts, and synthetic fibers.
