Triisobutylenated triphenyl phosphate
Description
Triisobutylenated triphenyl phosphate (CAS 68937-40-6), commercially known as DISFLAMOLL 51092, is an organophosphate compound used as a combined flame retardant and plasticizer in polymer systems.
Its dual functionality allows formulators to reduce flammability while maintaining or improving the flexibility of finished materials. In PVC and engineering thermoplastics, it delivers flame retardancy without the need for separate plasticizer additions.
This simplifies formulation and reduces raw material complexity. Building and construction applications include wire and cable jacketing, flooring, and wall coverings where fire performance standards must be met.
Automotive and aerospace interior components rely on it to achieve UL or FAR flammability ratings in flexible and semi-rigid polymer parts. In electronics, it is used in connector housings and enclosures.
It is also utilized in potting compounds where both flame resistance and dimensional stability under thermal stress are required. The product is supplied as a liquid at ambient conditions for easy handling.
This makes it suitable for direct blending into polymer matrices or solvent-based systems. It is available in technical grade, the standard specification for industrial and polymer processing applications.
Bulk and intermediate packaging options are typical for industrial supply, with drum and IBC formats commonly offered. This ensures efficient logistics and storage for large-scale manufacturing operations.
