Triphenyl phosphite

Triphenyl phosphite (CAS 101-02-0), also sold under the trade name Advance TPP, is an organophosphorus ester used as a stabilizer and processing aid in polymer, rubber, and lubricant manufacturing.

Where is Triphenyl phosphite used?

• Plastics compounding: incorporated into PVC and polyolefins
• Engineering resins: suppresses discoloration and extends service life during high-temperature processing
• Rubber and tires: processing stabilizer and mild plasticizer
• Lubricants: antioxidant component in industrial oils and metalworking fluids
• It also acts as an intermediate in the synthesis of other phosphorus-based flame retardants and specialty additives.

Good to know: Functions primarily as a secondary antioxidant and co-stabilizer, intercepting hydroperoxides during thermal processing to protect finished materials from degradation. In rubber it improves flow and reduces premature vulcanization side reactions.
