Tris(2-chloroisopropyl) phosphate

Description

Tris(2-chloroisopropyl) phosphate (CAS 1244733-77-4), commercially known as Levagard PP, is a chlorinated organophosphate flame retardant used across rigid and flexible polymer systems.

It functions by interrupting combustion in the gas phase while contributing char formation in the condensed phase. This reduces flammability in finished materials without requiring secondary additives.

In polyurethane foam manufacturing, it is incorporated directly into the polyol blend to meet fire performance standards. This includes rigid insulation panels and flexible seating foam applications.

Automotive and aerospace interior components use it to achieve UL 94 ratings in molded plastic parts. Common uses include dashboards, seat backs, and various cabin panels for safety compliance.

Electronics manufacturers apply it in encapsulants, potting compounds, and cable jacketing. It provides halogenated flame retardancy alongside excellent processing compatibility for sensitive components.

In building and construction, it is used in spray-applied and boardstock insulation systems. These applications are critical where building codes mandate specific fire classifications for safety.

The product is supplied as a clear to pale yellow liquid and is available in technical grade. This is the standard commercial specification for industrial and polymer processing.

Packaging typically ranges from drums to IBC containers for various facility needs. Bulk tanker supply is also available for high-volume foam producers requiring large scale delivery.
