Cyclomethicone

Cyclomethicone (CAS 69430-24-6), also marketed under the broader class term cyclosiloxanes, is a blend of cyclic dimethylsiloxane oligomers used across personal care and industrial formulations.

It functions primarily as a volatile carrier and conditioning agent, evaporating cleanly after application without leaving residue. In personal care, it acts as a delivery vehicle for active ingredients.

It is used in skin creams, serums, and hair care products, improving spreadability and imparting a smooth, non-greasy skin feel. Antiperspirants and deodorant sticks rely on it as a solvent.

This enables even distribution and fast dry-down for active compounds. In coatings and release agent formulations, it disperses silicone actives uniformly across substrates before evaporating.

Textile finishing operations use it as a carrier to deposit conditioning or softening agents onto fiber surfaces without leaving heavy buildup. It is supplied as a clear, low-viscosity liquid.

The material is available in drum and IBC quantities. It is available in cosmetic-grade specifications suitable for personal care formulations, with individual cyclic fractions D4, D5, and D6.

These fractions are also available separately for applications requiring defined volatility profiles. Technical-grade material is sourced for industrial coating and textile applications.
