Description

Zinc phosphate (CAS 7779-90-0) is an inorganic salt used primarily as a corrosion-inhibiting pigment in protective coatings and as a surface treatment agent across multiple industrial sectors.

Unlike traditional heavy-metal inhibitors, it provides rust protection through a passivation mechanism, making it a preferred choice where regulatory pressure limits chromate or lead-based alternatives.

In industrial and architectural coatings, it functions as an anti-corrosion pigment in primers applied to steel structures, pipelines, and metal fabrications for long-term protection.

Concrete and masonry formulations use it as a pH buffer and binder component, particularly in phosphate cement systems used in construction repair products and specialized building materials.

The textile and leather industries apply it in surface finishing and flame-retardant treatments, where it contributes to both fire resistance and substrate durability in various applications.

Adhesives and sealant formulations incorporate it to improve adhesion to metal substrates and extend product service life in demanding environments and high-stress industrial settings.

Zinc phosphate is supplied as a white powder in varying particle size distributions suited to different coating and formulation requirements for manufacturers and chemical processors.

Standard grades include technical and pigment-grade specifications, with purity levels typically ranging from 95% to 99%+. Packaging is available in 25 kg bags through to bulk quantities.
