Description

Vinyltris(2-methoxyethoxy)silane, also known by CAS 1067-53-4, is an organosilane coupling agent that bridges inorganic fillers and organic polymer matrices. It bonds mineral surfaces to resin systems, improving adhesion and mechanical strength.

This chemical improves moisture resistance in composite materials and is commercially known as Silane A-172. In rubber and tire manufacturing, it treats silica and glass fiber reinforcements to improve filler-matrix adhesion.

This treatment directly impacts compound durability and tensile performance in industrial applications. Plastics compounders use it to surface-treat mineral fillers such as talc, kaolin, and wollastonite before incorporation.

These fillers are typically integrated into polyolefin or thermoplastic systems for enhanced stability. Automotive sealants and adhesives rely on it as a crosslinking agent to achieve durable bonds to glass and metal.

These bonds remain stable even under humid conditions, ensuring long-term structural integrity. In printing and packaging, it functions as an adhesion promoter in UV-curable coatings and inks applied to glass.

It is also effective on mineral-filled substrates where high-performance adhesion is required. The product is supplied as a clear liquid, typically at 97% or higher purity for industrial use.

Technical grade is the standard commercial offering, with packaging ranging from drums to IBC containers. This variety of packaging options is designed to suit bulk compounding operations and logistics.

Some suppliers offer pre-hydrolyzed or diluted formulations for direct surface treatment applications. These specialized versions allow for easier integration into specific manufacturing workflows and coating processes.
