Cyclohexane
Description
Cyclohexane (CAS 110-82-7) is a cyclic hydrocarbon solvent used across pharmaceutical manufacturing, industrial cleaning, and chemical synthesis. It delivers strong non-polar solvency with low water miscibility.
This makes it a preferred extraction and reaction medium where aromatic solvents are restricted. In pharmaceutical and fine chemical manufacturing, it serves as a recrystallization solvent and reaction medium.
It is used for active ingredient synthesis, particularly where residual solvent profiles must meet strict regulatory limits. Industrial cleaning formulations use it to degrease precision components and remove contaminants.
It effectively removes hydrocarbon-based contaminants from metal surfaces. In the flavor and fragrance industry, it functions as an extraction solvent for natural raw materials, helping isolate aromatic compounds.
Chemical producers also use it as a feedstock and process solvent in nylon intermediate production. It is specifically utilized in the oxidation pathway to adipic acid and caprolactam for industrial use.
The product is supplied as a clear liquid in drum, IBC, and bulk tanker quantities. Technical grade is standard for industrial and cleaning applications, while high-purity material is available for specialized use.
HPLC-grade material is available for pharmaceutical and analytical use. Reagent-grade specifications are also offered for laboratory and synthesis applications to meet various industrial requirements.
