Description

Bis(hexamethylene)triamine (CAS 143-23-7), also known commercially as Bis(6-aminohexyl)amine, is a trifunctional aliphatic amine used as a curing agent, crosslinker, and corrosion inhibitor across polymer and metalworking applications.

Its three reactive amine groups allow it to form dense network structures in thermoset systems and coordinate with metal surfaces to suppress corrosion. In epoxy coatings and adhesives, it functions as a hardener.

This chemical builds crosslink density, contributing to chemical resistance and adhesion performance in protective and structural formulations. Polyamide and polyurea synthesis routes use it as a chain extender or monomer.

These applications allow manufacturers to tune mechanical properties in elastomers and engineering plastics. In metalworking fluids and lubricant additives, it acts as a corrosion inhibitor by chelating metal ions.

It works by forming protective films on ferrous and non-ferrous surfaces. Sealant formulators incorporate it to achieve controlled cure rates and improved flexibility in moisture-resistant systems for industrial use.

Bis(hexamethylene)triamine is supplied as a liquid at ambient conditions. It is available in technical grade, with purity specifications typically at 98% or higher for various industrial and manufacturing needs.

Bulk quantities are offered in drums and IBC containers, with smaller packaging available for laboratory and specialty formulation customers. The material is handled according to standard industrial safety protocols.
