Description

Bis(hexamethylenetriaminepenta(methylenephosphonic acid)), identified by CAS 34690-00-1, is a high-performance phosphonate chelating agent used in industrial water and process fluid management.

It controls scale deposition and inhibits corrosion by sequestering calcium, magnesium, and heavy metal ions under demanding conditions. In oilfield and gas processing, it is dosed into injection water systems.

This prevents carbonate and sulfate scale from fouling pipelines and downhole equipment. Water treatment plants use it in cooling tower and boiler circuits, where it stabilizes hardness ions and suppresses metal corrosion.

Mining operations apply it in mineral processing circuits to control scale buildup on heat exchangers and process vessels exposed to high-hardness brines. Its stability across a broad pH range is notable.

This characteristic also suits it for use in industrial cleaning formulations targeting mineral deposits. The product is supplied as an aqueous solution, typically at concentrations around 30–40% active content.

No established food-grade or pharmaceutical compendial specifications apply, such as FCC, USP, Ph.Eur., BP, EP, or ACS standards.

The product is available in technical grade for industrial end uses. Bulk liquid supply in IBC containers or road tankers is the standard commercial format for global distribution and logistics.
