Description
Sodium diethylenetriamine pentamethylene phosphonate (CAS 22042-96-2), commercially known as Dequest 2066, is a high-performance phosphonate chelating agent used across water treatment and industrial process applications.
It controls scale formation and inhibits corrosion in systems where conventional phosphonates underperform, particularly under high-temperature or high-hardness conditions. In industrial water treatment, it prevents calcium carbonate scale.
The chemical also prevents calcium sulfate and barium sulfate scale in cooling towers, boilers, and reverse osmosis systems. Oilfield operators use it in injection water and produced water circuits to suppress mineral deposition.
This product protects downhole equipment and ensures efficient flow. Textile and leather processors apply it to sequester hardness ions in process baths, improving dye uptake consistency and preventing metal-induced fabric damage.
