HMDTMPA-6K
Description
HMDTMPA-6K (CAS 53473-28-2) is the hexapotassium salt form of hexamethylenediamine tetramethylene phosphonic acid, offering high water solubility compared to its acid counterpart.
It functions as a chelating and sequestering agent, binding calcium, magnesium, iron, and other hardness-causing metal ions to prevent scale formation and inhibit corrosion in aqueous systems.
In industrial and municipal water treatment, it controls scale deposition in cooling towers, boilers, and reverse osmosis membranes where mineral buildup reduces system efficiency.
Textile and paper processing operations use it to sequester metal ions that would otherwise interfere with dyeing uniformity or bleaching performance during the manufacturing cycle.
In home care and industrial cleaning formulations, it stabilizes active ingredients and prevents metal-induced discoloration or product degradation over the shelf life of the chemical product.
Agricultural formulations incorporate it to complex trace metals in liquid fertilizers and micronutrient solutions, improving stability and nutrient availability for various crop types.
HMDTMPA-6K is supplied as an aqueous solution, with active content concentrations typically in the range of 20–30%. It is available in technical grade for industrial water treatment.
Bulk supply is standard in IBC containers and drums suited to industrial procurement volumes. This product meets rigorous industrial specifications for high-performance scale inhibition.
