Tetramethylhexamethylenediamine

Tetramethylhexamethylenediamine (CAS 111-18-2), commonly abbreviated as TMHDA, is a tertiary diamine used across polymer chemistry, catalysis, and specialty chemical synthesis.

Known also as 1,6-Bis(dimethylamino)hexane, it functions primarily as a catalyst, curing agent, and pH modifier in industrial formulations. In polyurethane and epoxy systems, it acts as a curing and crosslinking agent.

It influences gel time and final network density, which are parameters critical to formulators specifying mechanical performance. It serves as a catalyst precursor in organometallic and coordination chemistry.
