Description

Zinc salicylate (CAS 16283-36-6), also known as zinc disalicylate, is the zinc salt of salicylic acid used across pharmaceutical and personal care manufacturing. It combines the keratolytic and antimicrobial activity of salicylate with the skin-conditioning and astringent properties of zinc.

This combination makes it highly relevant to formulators targeting both therapeutic and cosmetic endpoints. In topical pharmaceutical formulations, it is used in creams and ointments targeting acne, seborrheic conditions, and hyperkeratotic skin disorders.

These applications are ideal where controlled exfoliation and antimicrobial action are required. Personal care manufacturers incorporate it into anti-dandruff shampoos, foot care products, and deodorant formulations for enhanced performance.

Both zinc and salicylate activity contribute to the finished product's performance profile in these settings. It also appears in medicated powders and dusting formulations designed for moisture control and mild antiseptic protection.

Oral care applications include its use as an active component in certain astringent mouthwashes and gum-care preparations. Zinc salicylate is supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder for various industrial uses.

Pharmaceutical-grade material is available to meet purity requirements aligned with USP and BP standards. Technical-grade supply is also sourced for industrial personal care manufacturing and large-scale production needs.

Packaging is typically offered in kilogram quantities through to bulk drums depending on application requirements. This ensures flexibility for both research-scale development and full-scale commercial manufacturing processes.
