Copper hydroxide
Description
Copper hydroxide (CAS 20427-59-2), also known as cupric hydroxide, is an inorganic copper salt used industrially as a biocide, fungicide, and pH-regulating agent.
Its controlled reactivity and copper ion release make it a functional active ingredient across agriculture, water treatment, and specialty chemical applications for various industrial sectors.
In agriculture, it is the active ingredient in crop protection formulations targeting fungal and bacterial diseases in fruits, vegetables, and cereals including downy mildew and fire blight.
Water treatment operations use it to control algae and microbial growth in industrial cooling systems and municipal infrastructure. It is also used in wood preservation and as a process chemical.
It functions as a precursor in the production of other copper compounds and specialty catalysts. The material is supplied as a blue powder or paste, with particle size varying by grade.
Agricultural-grade material typically conforms to specifications aligned with FAO/WHO guidelines and is formulated into wettable powders (WP) or suspension concentrates (SC) for field use.
Technical grade is available for industrial and chemical synthesis applications. This ensures high purity and consistent performance for manufacturers requiring specific chemical properties in their processes.
